Wanted to do a standing column, but iron hardness, sulfur and horrible recovery is not going to let that happen. Can I install a closed loop and not grout it in, rather leave it in the water and let the water transfer the heat? Static level is 30' down. I could easily insulate top 5' of well and leave cap vented which would result in the top 25' being an insulated air pocket transitioning to a 490' column of water. If a 1" loop is alright to use, I may be able to squeeze a pump along side of the loop at maybe 200' to bleed off well water if needed.
